The 3 Harbours Art festival came to a close on Sunday. I have now exhibited at this lovely wee arts fest for 5 years in a row and this year they celebrated their 10th year! It features an art trail and a multitude of group and solo exhibtions with loads of proffesional artists. There is also music, performances, theatre and a gala day. Its set in venues throughout the 3 villages of Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton on the Eastlothian coast, just a short journey from Edinburgh. Each of these villages which merge into each other have a lovely wee port and are steeped in history from ancient battles to the industrial histories of coal mines and fishing to the Cockenzie Power station and its much loved twin stacks, which after half a century of service, are due for demolition next year.
There is also a multitude of permanent murals in the villages. So much work goes into organising this and I look forward to exhibiting next year. Here's to another 10 years!
If you would like to get involved or apply to exhibit next year Keep an eye on their website from the end of October. Deadline is the end of December each year - http://www.3harbours.co.uk
